SPOTLIGHT SOCIALITE OF THE WEEK: LAUREN CONRAD
This week’s (and we feel like it should be month instead of week) Spotlight Socialite is of Lauren Conrad. We were not fans of Laguna Beach, The Hills grabbed our attention a little more…but either way, there was no denying the star who stole both shows was Lauren Conrad. She immediately had that “it” factor. She was beautiful, intelligent and goal oriented amongst a world of silver spooners. It took Lauren no time to prove what we thought about her was true, with just an internship at Teen Vogue in 2007 she helped increase their newsstand sales by double digits! In that same year also became spokesperson for Avon’s Line “Mark” pictured below.
However, Ms. Conrad was not done there, in 2009 she launched LC by Lauren Conrad a clothing collection sold in Kohl’s nationwide and released the first of her book collection L.A. Candy which topped the NY Times Bestseller List (both pictured below).
Lauren was showing no signs of slowing down her success in 2010 when she released the second of her books Sweet Little Lies ( pictured below) which also topped the NY Times Bestseller List.
In Oct. 2010 she is getting set to release her third book entitled Sugar and Spice (pictured below) which will undoubtedly follow the same success as the previous two.
It is reported that Lauren earned an estimated 1.5 million of her television and reality show appearances. Not bad at all for a woman at the start of her career. Lauren Conrad shows no signs of slowing down her brand and continues to know her audience and keeps them coming back for more, whether it is a book, cosmetic line, television appearance of clothing. This is what makes Lauren Conrad our Spotlight Socialite of the Week.
