Hello all you socialites out there. This event was truly a great example of why Warner Bros. continues to be covered by this site. They always put thought and serious promotion into their movies. This event was no different. The clever people in the marketing and PR dept., came together to put together “Bow Wow takes a job at Foot Locker” event in prep for the movie Lottery Ticket. The movie is in theaters this Friday and promises to be a good time for all movie goers. Now to the event:
First off, Bow Wow in the movie plays a Foot Locker employee, so Warner Bros. had him come to the 34th st. flagship Foot Locker store as their employee for the day! He was dressed in full Foot Locker gear with name tag and all (pictured below) to greet what seemed like endless amounts of fans.
A funny story about yesterday: I was in the city early, so to kill time I decided to take a nice bus ride down to 34th st. (Thought media check-in was at 4p.m. and it turned out to be 3:30p.m. – SMH) However, I’m glad I took that bus ride because when the bus stopped at 57th st. a group of young ladies and an older gentlemen came on the bus. I noticed right away that the young ladies had on these I DID NOT WIN THE LOTTERY shirts. In my mind, I was thinking “Wow, those would be great shirts for Warner Bros. in promoting the movie”…turns out, those ladies and that gentlemen got off the bus at my same stop (34thst.) Next time I looked around they were running straight for the Foot Locker and I realized they were headed to the same event as myself. So kudos to Warner for being on point with promotion and marketing!
Upon walking up 34th street from 8th ave towards the Foot Locker I started gaining sight of the mob of people outside and realized this event was major! I entered into the Foot Locker and realized the mob was inside as well. The line was long inside and outside the store. Now that’s PR & promotion for a movie! Myself and my photographer George Mckenzie JR. settled in to the press area in preparation for Bow Wow’s arrival and noticed there were photographers from all over. This event had heavy press there, which is always a good sign before the weekend a film releases.
Upon Bow Wow’s arrival he immediately wanted to start speaking on the microphone to his fans. He even told the groups of thirsty photographers of the press…that he had to talk to his fans first because without them he wouldn’t be here. Now that’s a star who knows the importance of the fan! The entire event was well-organized and completely clever. They had him behind the register signing movie posters as if he was ringing up fans. Overall, the event was a complete success and actually fit the theme of the movie. Two thumps up to Warner Bros. for knowing how to truly market and handle press surrounding this movie. Definitely Socialiteis approved. Enjoy the pics! The pics were taken by George Mckenzie Jr. and my Blackberry Tour (it works more than people know!).

*Designer Presentation
On June 3rd, 2010, not only did we have the pleasure of being invited to the prestigious 2010 NV awards hosted by Damon John of Abc’s Shark Tank & Jacque Reid of Jacque Reid Media held at the NY Times Center, we also had the pleasure of being guided through the evening by the lovely and multi-talented Free (formerly of B.E.T.’s #1 show 106 & Park). The evening was filled with the top African Americans within the fields of Advertising, Marketing, Financial, Corporate & Fashion.
As we noticed right away, walking along with Free…it was as if she never left 106…everyone was excited to see her and she was completely humbled by the attention and love.
Free was also on hand to present the prestigious Fashion Award to Richard Dent III Chairman of the Billion Dollar line from Victoria’s Secret PINK. Richard confessed upon receiving the award that he had a crush on Free when she was on 106 and Park! The evening overall was tasteful, eloquent and well put together. We would like to thank Free and Kyle Donovan for the special invite and kindness they showed us throughout the evening. Now, enjoy the pics and we’ll see you again soon!

Our parent company F1GMedia’s owner Chris Collie is Head of the Annual Freedom Fund Journal this year for the Bronx Branch of the N.A.A.C.P. We would first like to congratulate him on that honor. Secondly, he is trying to set a precedent and change some of the out-dated ways and mentality of his branch and the organization. Being that each journal from each branch is then sent to the National Board of the N.A.A.C.P. who then sends it out to all members’ branches throughout the United States. This journal is seen by every age demographic from teens, to young adults to seniors.
This year as he was appointed to head of the journal and being a young entrepreneur & blogger he knew the tremendous boost this could be to everyone’s promotion of their brand and/or blog. One ad in these journals can be seen across the country within days! Now with the recessionary times, the prices have been minimized and tailored to fit everyone’s budget. All proceeds of the ad revenue go towards the branches of the N.A.A.C.P. to help provide scholarships, fight civil rights causes and make sure we continue to secure equality for all within this country. So he figured, why not help out his fellow colleagues while also helping the most prestigious civil rights organization in history (who by the way is celebrating their 100th anniversary this year)?! You will receive a copy of the journal with your ad in it to keep for a collector’s item. Mind you, we don’t make a dime on this…this is strictly in helping both colleagues and a great organization. Hope it can benefit all.
So without further adieu, here is how the ad breakdown for the journal looks like this (Keep in mind the more serious you take your business and/or blog is the discretion you should use in carefully choosing which ad suits your needs):

Wave Energy Drink: One of the Sponsors for Tommy Baldwin Racing
This reception was held in the impressive NY Times building in Midtown Manhattan. Upon arriving, we are greeted by over 200 mini-screens all flashing some quick news update on them as you walk by. Mind you, this is just the lobby! Then, after checking in downstairs where two guards and a quaint woman with a list the size of a old English scroll greet you, you are escorted to the elevator to arrive on the floor where the reception will be for the evening. As the elevator doors open you are greeted with this beautiful table…

Take notes event planners, this is how elegance is achieved…the little details count. After passing the beautiful table pictured above, you are then in the open reception area where the second check-in starts. You must give your company’s name and yours, then they will hand you a laminated tag with your name & company name on it. You then are ushered into the main reception area where poster boards adorn the area with images of Tommy Baldwin’s racing car, Guy Fieri on his show and Nascar races from the past.
As we started walking around the room and noticing all the who’s who in business, fashion and sports were there. People that are behind the scenes that many would not know. It was a pleasure to be in the room surrounded by such talent and great minds. At this exact moment is when the finger foods and bar opened….Jackpot! Lol The food was excellent from gourmet honey chicken, to shrimp rolls with stuffed spinach inside. Wave energy drink sponsored the bar along with Absolute Vodka which made for a smooth drink at the combination of both called a Wave Runner (Wave Energy drink, Absolute Vodka & Cranberry).
F1GMedia’s (our parent company) C.E.O. Chris Collie was on hand chatting with the marketing executives from Estee Lauder & Sak’s Fifth Avenue. They all were in anticipation of the upcoming presentation going to be given by the executives from the NY Times, Nascar, Tommy Baldwin & Guy Fieri. Below are the execs from Estee Lauder & Saks 5th Ave.

Marketing Specialists from Sak's 5th Ave & Estee Lauder
Just as we were all starting to see the room start socializing and getting more aquainted with each other’s companies, they announced it was time to make our way to the presentation room. This is where Socialiteis.wordpress.com became extremely exclusive…one of the only cameras allowed in the room. Here are the exclusive photos below…

Overall, this New York Times reception was informative as well as enjoyable. There were interesting facts given during the presentation about how profitable Nascar is for sponsors and everyone involved as well as how powerful the New York Times readership is throughout the world. Tommy Baldwin being a 5 time Trophy holder and now owner of his own racing team was personable and always willing to talk to the media, an executive or a fan of the sport. We would like to extend our gratitude for the invitation to be a part of this special evening. Defintely this night was Socialiteis approved!

Luckily, us at Socialiteis had gret connects who after a few minutes ushered us in. Upon entering you were greeted with banners containing intriguing photographs hanging from the ceiling pictured below…

As if those banners pictured above weren’t eye catching enough for the decor the bar held a beautiful Stoli ice sculpture with fruits inside on the bar for patrons to admire as they ordered their Stoli drinks.

With NY Fashion Week being only a few days away, the anticipation building up, people are starting to make calls, share rsvp info and trying to find out who has access to what show, K-Swiss heats up the anticipation with a rooftop soiree & runway show of their own…sponsored by Patron.

Just as NY’s Who’s Who were mingling and having their fill of drinks and food, an announcement was made that everyone go one floor under the roof to their seats where the runway show was about to start. The runway and seats were set up in traditional NY Fashion Week style, let the show begin….

ANI SHOWS US SELECTED PIECES FROM HER LINE KarAni
LA native Ani Karapetian shows off her stylish, eclectic & diverse new line KarAni. Ani was more than willing to take us on a intricate look at not only her clothing but the fabric and materials that make them unique. Ani gives insight on to what type of woman her line was made to cater to. “KarAni is for the woman who knows her body and stands apart in a crowd.” Ani began her designing with Rock & Republic and then moved on to become the design assistant for Jenny Han. However, she still wanted the freedom to create the pieces she envisioned and so, KarAni was born. Her pieces are great due to the intricacy in mixing fabrics as well as design. Socialiteis approved!

There is one word to describe this year’s MTV Movie Awards: AWKWARD!

Before we start commenting and writing about what led to this one word description of the famed award show, we figured let’s at least show some pictures from the red carpet…

Hayden Panettiere

Anna Faris

Megan Fox

Taylor Lautner

Zachary Quinto

Zac Efron

Soulja Boy

Taraji Henson

Malin Akerman
Ok, so now that our blogging duty is out of the way as far as showing the red carpet pics, let’s get back to the matter at hand. The reason this year’s MTV Movie Awards was the most awkward ever. From the off-beat host (Who we actually like outside of this awards show) whose jokes and wit of humor were not really gotten by the crowd to the forever in infamy Bruno/Eminem moment this show never had a comfortable feel. These next few images will show some of the highlights of the awkward moments at this year’s award show…

Bruno landing on Eminem and giving Em a view he did not appreciate…hence the next picture

Em & entourage leaving after the Bruno incident..Does Em look happy to you?

Huh?! Only on MTV! SOH (Shaking Our Heads)

Kiefer Sutherland in the midst of his way too long Dramatic roasting of Ben Stiller as he helps in presenting Ben the MTV Generation Award

The Terrible Three: Kiefer Sutherland/Triumph/Zac Efron all combine to give the most uncomfortable acknowledging of Ben Stiller’s 20 years in the industry

Ben tries to smile while still taking in the roasting he just received before accepting the MTV Generation Award: Is this the happy face of a man who usually receives a generation award?

And the absolute clincher (However we did find it kind of funny): LeAnn Rimes,Chris Isaak & Forest Whitaker!! singing D _CK In A Box!!! How did they get them to agree to that?!!
So overall this year’s 2009 MTV Movie Awards was as uncomfortable to watch and sometimes insulting to intelligence as it was for Eminem to have another man’s butt in his face! We feel this year, MTV went a little too far; censorship is always exercised with subject content way less than this and yet MTV was allowed to basically do every vulgar, insulting and demoralizing thing they felt possible. The writing was horrible and the skits were poorly planned…Socialiteis gives this year’s award show a C- at best.
